JJ’s Patio is open for the Summer with Steak, Seafood and Sips
Still timelessly elegant even after 40 years JJ’s remains a Plaza classic. With summer in full swing, so is JJ’s outdoor patio dining.
JJ’s recently introduced its summer menu, although it’s still focused on steak and upscale comfort food with bold flavor, there are many dishes with a seasonal twist.
The new summer menu keeps longtime favorites like Paco Shrimp, one of the few dishes served since day one. Newer guest-inspired additions like Lobster Bisque and Mini Maryland Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes show that JJ’s listens as much as it leads.
Other seasonal offerings include Lobster Mac and Cheese, Chilean Sea Bass, Vegan Sundried Tomato Pesto Pasta, and a fresh Chopped Wedge Salad. And no summer visit is complete without dessert, so choose between the citrusy Lemon Olive Oil Cake or the decadent Chocolate Ganache Cake (or indulge in both).
Even though the summer menu is showcasing a few seasonal twists, JJ’s steak is still the star of the show. Each cut is seared on a Montague Steakhouse broiler, believed to be the only one in Kansas City, which caramelizes even the rarest meat to perfection. It is part of what sets JJ’s apart in a city that knows good beef.
With one of the most extensive wine selections in Kansas City and a menu that nods to both the past and the present, JJ’s patio is ready for another season of sipping, savoring, and soaking up the summer on the Plaza.
