KC Bier Co. Is Opening An Authentic Bavarian-style Biergarten In Lenexa

KC Bier Co. has been a Waldo staple since it opened in 2014, offering traditional German style brews, an indoor taproom and outdoor Biergarten great for families and celebratory events. The brewery has expanded its distribution past its taproom over the past decade, selling its beers throughout the city, but recently it broke ground on its biggest project yet.

KC Bier Co. and West Star Development have begun construction on the brewery’s second location in Lenexa. The Lenexa site is expected to open in late spring of 2026 and be “one of the largest authentic Bavarian-style Biergartens in the US,” according to the press release.

The new site, located at 98th and Ridgeview Road, sits on two-acres and will include a large Bierhalle, showcase brewery, event space, covered patio and Biergarten with a children’s play area, amphitheater and an off-leash dog park.

Beer served at the location will be brewed on site. The menu will feature a blend of American dishes and German favorites like schnitzel, sausage, rotisserie chicken, and popular German street foods like the Döner Kebab, Leberkäse and pretzels.

KC Bier Co.’s original brewery and taproom will remain open without any changes, and all retail market production will still take place at the Waldo location.

“West Star Development approached KC Bier Co in 2022 about adding a Bavarian-style beer garden to their planned mixed-use development on Ridgeview between K-10 and Prairie Star Parkway,” says KC Bier Co Founder Steve Holle. “We immediately embraced their vision of a community gathering place and recognized the excellent linkages of highways and the bike trails throughout adjacent Mill Creek Streamway Park. The small beer garden in our Waldo location is popular, and we feel fortunate to have found another great location in Lenexa.”
