Eight Food and Drink Deals to Celebrate 816 Day 

This Sunday, August 16 marks Kansas City’s citywide celebration of itself, 816 Day.

In the Power & Light District, the official 816 Day celebration kicks off at 11 am. The all-day event features a 100-plus vendor market, food trucks, a kids zone, dance competitions and live performances from Stranded in the City, Marcus Lewis Big Band with Brass and Boujee, Back Alley Brass Band and the Go Hard Band. That’s just one of many parties that span from Zona Rosa to City Market to the Country Club Plaza.

Restaurants and bars are joining in on the fun, too. Outside of the many Power & Light establishments offering discounted cocktails and meals, we’ve rounded up eight food and drink specials—all priced at $8.16—in honor of KC’s area code.
