Bicentennial Bridge to Adrian’s Island
Wander down the 12-foot-wide pedestrian/bicycle bridge connecting the Missouri State Capitol Complex to the premiere 32-acre riverfront parkland. The Bicentennial Bridge spans the railroad and slopes gently down to Deborah Cooper Park on Adrian’s Island, which encompasses several amenities such as nature trails, public art, hammocks, and the Missouri Bicentennial Chessboard. Whether watching the sun rise over the Missouri River, the sun set behind the Capitol dome, or trains coming and going, you’re surrounded by the best views in town.

The perfect place to escape to during any season, Binder Park is 644 acres of fun for the whole family. The 155-acre lake is ideal for fishing, kayaking, and even sailing your boat. If you prefer to stick to land, the park has mountain bike trails to conquer, disc golf courses to practice your throw and release, and a ropes challenge course to step out of your comfort zone (program offered seasonally).

Missouri River Pedestrian/Bike Bridge
Pedestrians and bicyclists can easily and safely cross the Missouri River Bridge to travel back and forth between North Jefferson City and the heart of the city. Katy Trail users will be able to navigate through North Jefferson City and Noren Access to then travel up the ramp to the bridge. The bridge attachment includes two lookout points with a spectacular view of the Missouri State Capitol and the Jefferson City riverfront.
Runge Conservation Nature Center
Enjoy the natural wonders of Missouri and the fish, forests, and wildlife found here by strolling through more than two miles of hiking nature center trails. You can also climb a 60-foot fire tower for a panoramic view of the city and the area’s dramatically rolling landscape. The Naturescape Trail is accessible to people with disabilities.
Take in the scenery and excitement of this 60-acre park, which includes a community swimming pool, the Capital Region Amphitheater and other recreational amenities. Just beyond the park’s pavilion, you will find the Ellis-Porter Riverside Overlook. From here, you can see the Missouri River, framed by trees that turn brilliant shades of orange in the fall. You’ll also find a kiosk that tells the story of the Lewis and Clark Expedition, which passed through this location on June 4, 1804.
